Here’s our christmas corner at our house. We’re going for the scandinavian look this year. My husband had a really cool idea for wrapping paper. He brought home a newspaper from Hong Kong to use for gift wrapping and I must say it does look cool! I like mix and maxing gift wrap so I thew some parcel paper and silver/grey printed paper in there as well. So think about maybe recycling those old papers for gift wrapping!

Big Changes For Little Lunalu

Friday 25th November 2011

Hi Friends! I just wanted to fill you in on what’s going on with Little Lunalu. As you can see we no longer have a webshop. We had a fabulous ride and we couldn’t have done it all without you guys! I will keep the blog as I just love scouring the internet for inspiring things/people and get excited about sharing them with all of you. I’m also going to be working on a few other projects on the side which you’ll be hearing about in due time. I feel so grateful for the love and support we’ve had over the last few years. Thank you for making Little Lunalu the success that it was. I hope that you’ll continue to support us in the blog. Get ready for some serious blogging coming your way! Hope you have a lovely weekend. Lots of Love, Adina P.S. We really DID have THE BEST CUSTOMERS in the PLANET!!!!!

Giving Thanks

Lunalu's Diary: Giving Thanks

One of the things I love about being a Mama is that I get to make up our own family traditions. One of which is to give thanks to the local police and firemen every year. This year we’ll be making yummy white oreo truffles and chocolate chip cookies (4 dozen!!) to give to them. I’ve also asked the nursery where Luna attends to get the kids to make cards/pictures for them. I take any opportunity I can to teach Luna about the importance of giving and this is just one way where it can also be fun and interactive. I encourage you guys to do something with your little ones to give back to the community in this time of thanks/holiday. Get your aprons on and have a fun messy time with the kids in the spirit of giving.

Typical Day in the Life of Luna

Don’t you just love how imaginative kids are? Luna comes home from Nursery and she goes straight to the dress up box. She can’t have lunch without being in character. These days she’s into fairies, princesses and animals. Everyone around her must get into theme too of course. So you ring our door bell and you never know what you’re gonna find. The post man thinks it’s just hilarious. Yesterday Luna had a friend over from school. She told her friend she had to be tinkerbell because she has yellow hair and Luna had to be snow white because she has black hair. And then once they were in full costume they ran around the house making an imaginative adventure. Love a house filled with giggles. It’s contagious isn’t it!?

3 Day Cleanse/Juicing Experiment

Tuesday 15th November 2011

Lunalu's Diary: 3 Day Cleanse/Juicing Experiment Lunalu's Diary: 3 Day Cleanse/Juicing Experiment Image 2

I am about to embark on a 3 day cleanse of only juices. I’ve never actually dieted or done one of these sorts of ‘cleanses’ and I have to say I’m actually nervous! I don’t have a lot of will power when it comes to food. But I really think it would be good to have a cleansing of the system and sort of reset my whole relationship with food. I went and purchased all my goodies to get me going on the juicing experiment and I will report back on what happens in the next 3 days! Wish me luck!

Lapland for the Ultimate Christmas Experience

Some friends of ours were mentioning to us about taking the kids to Lapland for a christmas experience. Apparently elves pick you up from the airport and you stay in santa’s village. It’s the ultimate of ultimate christmas for the kids.

Stay: There’s the aptly named Hotel Santa Claus (http://www.hotelsantaclaus.fi), which is conveniently located near the Santa Claus village but there are plenty of less conventional options when it comes to accommodation in Lapland, including romantic log cabins, snow villages, ice hotels and even igloos. A Snow Castle is created annually at the port town of Kemi (http://www.snowcastle.net) and a snow village at Lainio near the ski resorts of Yllas and Levi. Here, you can opt to sleep on a bed of ice or choose from one of the cosy wood cabins dotted among the trees (http://www.snowvillage.fi). The Igloo Village Kakslauttanen is located in Saariselkä and offers a pick of over 30 igloos, including a honeymoon suite. And if you’re wondering where to get married beforehand, they even have an ice chapel too (http://www.kakslauttanen.fi).
